The White Lily

The White Lily, in Christian mysticism, symbolizes the humility, gentleness, and purity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the joy of the Resurrection. The presence of the Virgen Mary is of great comfort and hope for our Senior citizens. She appears very close in the care of Life, she embodies attitudes such as: the ability to accompany and console, discrete presence, sensitivity to all that happens to those who suffer, the intuition to understand the world of the sick, the daily tender gesture, the generous, hopeful, trusting surrender to God and the acceptance of His will. The whiteness of the lily signifies the ethical attitude of respect for life upheld by the Catholic Church in her guidelines.

Entrance or Door

Signifies "Welcome" to the Home, to protection and security, sense of belonging and the warmth of the "home" the Sisters offer to the elderly. It also symbolizes the deepening and acceptance of knowing how to grow old, to cherish the real and venerable beauty of growing old and come to terms with the passing of the years, even with the signs of aging to surrender the wisdom that transcends appearances and goes beyond the surface of things, that causes an intimate joy that evokes and transports beyond horizons toward the eternal hills where time and space have passed away and it is time to look inward, the time of intimacy to take account of the interior wealth accumulated thoughout life, given that there is now enough time and tranquility to extend an inner gaze into the depths of the interior cosmos. On a Espiritual level, the door symbolizes the prayer of the elderly as a gift for the Church, a wealth, an injection of wisdom for human society, which is sometimes too absorbed and distracted. Grandparents form the permanent choir of a great spiritual sanctuary, where prayer of supplication and the cantical of praises sustain the community that works and struggles in the field of life (Cfr. Catequesis on the elderly, Pope Francis, March 2017).

The Elderly Man and The Sister

Symbolizes the Mission of the sisters to repair the vineyard of the Lord. In attending and accompanying the elderly who suffer marginalization and abandonment due to the diminution of their physical and mental capacities, transforming them into realities of life, hope and transcendence; offering them a decent and fraternal home. Our institutions seek to be an anticipation of heaven for seniors, preparing them for the final encounter with the Lord.

The Franciscan Cord

The Franciscan cord represents the bonds of brotherhood and support networks that make up the Home, benefactors and volunteers. The knots represent the Evangelical principles, Marian and Franciscan, in response to the call to holiness that we, as consecrated religious, receive through the example of the Virgen Mary and Saint Francis of Assisi in the service of senior adults, poor, abandoned and disabled.
